Mount Everest, Sagarmatha (Nepalese), the highest peak in the world, is famous for its beautiful trekking routes on earth. To experience the feel of trekking, I painted Mount Everest. Normally, visitors to Mount Everest, represent their countries with their national flags. In this painting, the beautiful sunset view of Mount Everest is presented. A Taiwanese trekker is wearing a Sherpa (a traditional Nepali dress), and proudly representing his national flag. He had a yak (a domestic animal) to help him carry his belongings.
This painting shows the fascinating scenery of the Ghandhruk village of Pokharain Nepal. It is the untouched part of Nepal, overruled only by nature and enclosed by the enticing mountains, Mount Machapuchree and Mount Dhaulaghiri. The astonishing architecture of man-made houses with roofing made of paddy husks layers, interblends with landscape of agricultural fields. The houses are painted red and white using natural limestone.

Two to One (二合一)
Emelly Fitria (鄒方芳) Freshman,DTAIC (熱帶農業暨國際合作系大一生) Indonesia (印尼)
The sidewalk along the Xue-Fu Road with its wonderful background is one of the NPUST's most signatured views. With my imagination wandered back home, Indonesia, I added in this artwork some traditional Indonesian artistic elements onto the clouds and the cloth wrapped around the tree. The clouds are presented using a kind of batik art, called Mega-Mendung, originated from Cirebon. The black and white checkered sarong on the trunk is named Sapur Poleng, a traditional textile in Bali. The two places, where I consider both my home, merged into one canvas.
When I was a child, I used to watch the lion dance during the Chinese New Year. However, as times evolved, the opportunity of witnessing the lion dance has progressively subsided. In this painting, I showcase two traditions by drawing the traditional lion dance on the lawn of NPUST by imitating the traditional engraving technique.

A Blast from Belize (繽紛多元的貝里斯)
Daina Crystal Balan (白水晶) Senior, DTAIC (熱帶農業暨國際合作系大四生) Belize (貝里斯)
When I think of home, these images blast into my mind, forming this vibrant collage that portrays diversity of ethnicity and nature in Belize. The upper portion of the painting represents the coast and the beauty of the blue hole and reef. The center combines the landmark that spells Belize, along with features of the jungle. The boiling pot and the different ethnic groups is demonstrated beneath the landmark. The pine ridge that runs into the river where a race is occurring and passes by the Maya ruin, typifies the inland of the country.

Memories of the amazing rainbow sunset in one of the most beautiful places in Indonesia namely ”PURA ULUNDANU BRATAN”, Bali, Indonesia always imprinted on my mind, every time I see the orange sun in Taiwan sky. As the sun begins to set on the horizon, the colors presented in the Bali sky and the reflection of the charming Ulundanu Temple coupled with the magical atmosphere of Lake Bratan, all blending together created an aura which seemed to hypnotized the mind to keep admiring its beauty. That is one of the memory of the place where I come from, INDONESIA.

My imagination: I have moved my hometown to NPUST. (我的想像:我已經把我的家鄉搬到了屏科大 )
“Mae Ying Kee Rod Teep Gang Jong” or “A woman riding a bicycle and holding an umbrella”. It represents the “unique Lanna style”, a well-known traditional way of people who live in the north of Thailand where I came from. This is an abstract feeling that represents my soul, with one world I have left and another world I have move to. It could be the special place like NPUST that brings out a familiar feeling as my second home.
This painting is a small sneak peak of Lake Fewa in Nepal. During sunset, the sky appears to be purple. The mountains peak through the hills. My memory of Indonesia (the place where I came from) is Batik. Batik is an Indonesian symbol and also an art. Batik’s pattern is usually used in our outfit. From the pattern, one can distinguish where the batik comes from. Some batiks offer certain story through their patterns. Nowadays, not only is batik used as textile arts, but also decoration in many ways.

Statue in Surabaya city, Indonesia (印尼泗水市的雕像)
Clarissa Maharrita H (瑪荷莉) Sophomore, DTAIC (熱帶農業暨國際合作系大二生) Indonesia (印尼)
This statue comes from the Legend of Surabaya, an Indonesian folk tale. Once upon a time, Sura (a shark) and Baya (a crocodile) fought many times over preys in the ocean. They were both equally strong and no one ever won or lost. Finally, they agreed that Sura stayed and preyed in the water, while Baya lived on the mainland and his preys must be on land or river. One day, Sura hunted in the river. This enraged Baya. Since no one budged, they battled fiercely again.
