EFFECTS OF BEEHIVE HEIGHTS ON THE FORAGING ACTIVITIES OF EUROPEAN HONEYBEE (APIS MELLIFERA)

Bees can land or take off at maximum 60° inclined angles to the horizontal. Less the angle, less energy and time used for landing and takeoff. Energy spent to balance the body and carrying the wt. Tired bees don’t have enough energy to return to the hive and they will die on the way or in the field. Therefore, this study was planned to solve this conflict by optimize the hive placement height at the field.
