  • Sustainable environment…Sustainable happiness(永續的環境…永續的幸福)
  • Suwimol Chinkangsadarn (陳玉蘭)
    Ph.D. student, DTAIC (熱帶農業暨國際合作系博士生)
    Thailand (泰國)
  • Caring about “environmental sustainability” is not just about us and our own experience on earth. My painting illustrates the nature-rich ecosystem in Thailand with clean air, giant trees, fruits, flowers, and important pollinators. The lively Thai-style colorful fish represents the happy life in fresh and clean water. Rhinoceros hornbill, a Thailand’s endangered bird, symbolizes the forest fertility. Brushed gold color presents the prosperous future on earth.

Second Prize 第二名

  • Reminiscence & Renascence of Biodiversity (生物多樣性懷念與復興)
  • David Anderson (安達偉)
    Ph.D. student, DTAIC (熱帶農業暨國際合作系博士生)
    Indonesia (印尼)
  • This painting is inspired by my childhood memories in my grandfather's village on the island of Borneo, Indonesia. Nowadays the once highly biodiversified habitat has been replaced by dense human settlements. Seeing squirrels jumping among trees in the NPUST campus reminds me of my beautiful childhood memories about biodiversity. I hope that through this painting, biodiversity will revive in the future in the spirit of the SDGs.

  • Guatemala, the core of the Maya civilization, is getting polluted day by day due to the lack of education. Water is polluted, tress are fewer, girls specially from the rural areas don’t have the opportunity to go school, kids are dying because of malnutrition and poverty. This drawing represents a country full of dreams, changes, and hopes to have an impact in the future generations. I strongly believe that working together in unity is possible to have a positive and better change in my country.

  • Cultural continuity (文化連續性)
  • Ying-Lien He (何映璉)
    Senior, DTAIC(熱帶農業暨國際合作系大四生)
    Taiwan (台灣)
  • The person dressed in blue was playing a Paiwan nose flute. A young girl was looking at him with admiration and wanted to learn to play the nose flute. They only imitated and learned from their elders without any music scores. In addition to the cultural heritage of the nose flute, I also hope that the culture in Taiwan can continue for the next generation.
